Tech Investors Academy

A venture investment learning program developed by SeedBlink in partnership with BiSM (Bucharest International School of Management)

About the Program

Tech Investors Academy is a learning program that grew out of one of SeedBlink's missions - to provide valuable information about venture investing.

Led by highly respected BiSM experts, the program is designed to provide greater clarity on the startup investment ecosystem, enable informed decision-making, and how to get access to the most promising opportunities. Join the Tech Investors Academy and get ready to invest.

Program Structure

The program is designed as a series of 3 online webinars with renowned business experts.

  • Andreas Antonopoulos - Rector of the College of New York in Prague
  • Sergiu Negut - co-founder of FintechOS
  • Florin Ilie - Head of Wholesale Banking at ING Romania

The webinar series will be followed by a final offline event that will include a live case study to recap and apply the lessons learned in the previous sessions, as well as a networking get-together.

The closing event will feature previous experts as well as Radu Georgescu - Co-Founder of SeedBlink and Radu Atanasiu - Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Partner at BiSM. More information about the program can be found here.

Andreas Antonopoulos will open the webinar series with a discussion on the tech startup evaluation process, sharing with participants the essentials of reading business plans, evaluating funding rounds, and the "green flags" and "red flags" in investment opportunities.

Sergiu Negut's session will focus on growth, more specifically on predicting growth. Attendees will learn how to identify companies that are expected to perform better than average.

In Florin Ilie's session titled Building a Healthy and High-Performing Investment Portfolio, participants will learn about market dynamics related to geopolitical news, key macroeconomic drivers of the market, and lessons learned from investors' mistakes, depending on their level of experience.

Registrations are open now and will continue throughout the duration of the program. More about the program and the existing fee can be found here.

"Technology has democratized many aspects of contemporary life, from education (with free courses from Harvard and MIT on Coursera) to journalism (anyone with access to a cell phone camera can become a reporter). Another area that more and more people have access to through crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and crowdinvesting platforms like AngelList is investing in startups. I have been investing on AngelList for a few years now, but my focus is on Romanian tech startups. So I was thrilled when I learned that people I know and trust started SeedBlink. Today, I work with SeedBlink on some of my investments. In addition to access to deal flow, however, startup investors also need access to knowledge. An investor needs to understand traction and scaling, risk and risk mitigation, convertible notes and SAFE, the steps of startup financing, and strategies for accelerated growth. Therefore, SeedBlink's initiative to partner with BISM to share this knowledge with its members is the natural next step in serving the SeedBlink community. I am excited to be part of this program," says Radu Atanasiu - Associate Dean of Academic Affairs & Partners at BiSM.

"An affinity for the venture capital and a passion for continuous learning are two core values shared by our community. We enthusiastically address both points by launching a customized learning program for our existing or aspiring investors that provides them with structured knowledge, inspiration, and many valuable interactions with like-minded individuals. As we also believe in the power of collaboration, we have chosen a trusted educational partner to design this learning program, BiSM, with whom we are enthusiastically planning many more learning initiatives. Stay tuned.” - said Luiza Amzolin, Community Manager at SeedBlink.
