This is the 12th investment made by Catalyst Romania Fund II, alongside Crescendo Ventures and SeedBlink.

Bucharest, Romania, 2nd of April 2026 - Voxa secures over €4 million in a round led by Catalyst Romania to become the regional leader in digital books in Central and Eastern Europe
This marks the 12th investment for Catalyst Romania Fund II, with participation from Crescendo Ventures, SeedBlink, Europe's venture deal execution platform, alongside Bravva Angels.
Voxa is the fastest-growing audiobook and e-book streaming platform in Southeast Europe. Launched in November 2021 by entrepreneurs Marin and Dan Vidrașcu, the platform has surpassed 1 million users and a catalog of over 200,000 titles, becoming the leader in Romania’s digital book segment. The company operates in Romania and Hungary, provides international content in more than 10 countries and serves both individual users and businesses through employee benefits platforms.
The capital raised will support three strategic directions: expansion into the Balkans (Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro), strengthening the company’s leadership in Hungary, a market launched at the end of 2025 where Voxa is already on track to become number one, and product development, including the launch of a freemium model and distribution partnerships with e-commerce and telecom platforms.
Dan Vidrașcu, CEO and co-founder of Voxa: "We have proven in Romania that a local streaming model built on relevant content and strong editorial partnerships can win against global players. Hungary confirmed that the model is replicable. The next step —the Balkans—, is a region of 14 million consumers with fragmented content infrastructure, exactly the kind of market where Voxa excels. This funding offers us the resources to execute our strategy quickly."
In 2025, Voxa recorded over 50% growth of its paying subscriber base compared to the previous year, driven by investments in Voxa Originals and partnerships with international publishers. The company has also launched and is exploring distribution partnerships with players in retail, telecom and fintech, following a model validated by mature streaming platforms.
Marius Ghenea, Managing Partner at Catalyst Romania: "The digital audio content market, and streaming models in particular, are experiencing accelerated growth globally. Voxa is well-positioned to capitalize on this opportunity in the digital book space, similar to how Netflix or Spotify operate in their verticals. We appreciated the company’s ability to build a scalable product tailored to user needs, as well as the team’s excellent experience at the intersection of publishing and digital content, essential for developing such a tech platform. At the same time, our investment supports a company contributing to continuous learning by providing access to relevant, high-quality content, which has a meaningful social impact. The next steps following this investment involve regional and international expansion, aiming to make this product a European regional leader with usage beyond Europe."
Crescendo Ventures, an early-stage investor in Voxa since the pre-seed round, is converting its existing SAFE instrument in this round, confirming continued confidence in the company’s trajectory. SeedBlink, co-investor in previous rounds, participates again, reinforcing the support of its community of over 100,000 investors in the region.
Voxa is a digital “smart entertainment” ecosystem redefining reading in Central and Eastern Europe through audiobook, e-book and podcast streaming. The platform combines cutting-edge technology with editorial expertise, offering personalized access to localized and international content, including Voxa Originals. Voxa serves both individual users and companies, integrating its digital library as a key benefit for employee education and retention. More information: www.voxa.ro
