Investor Profile: Adrian Horvat
The learning resources you find on SeedBlink and the community convinced me to use the platform. You get access to powerful European investment opportunities that are not available elsewhere.

Adrian Horvat is a global marketer with over 8 years of experience in e-commerce and digital marketing. Adrian Horvat has helped local (RO) and global companies from different sectors (e-commerce, travel, retail) to drive their marketing strategy and execution. Currently, Adrian Horvat is working in a global company where he is responsible for driving the growth agenda. Since he is one of our active investors, we wanted to know what led him to invest in startups and what his approach is. Dive in!

What does your investment portfolio look like?

I started actively investing this year (2022) and currently have a diversified portfolio of 7 companies in 5 different sectors. I intend to continue to grow my portfolio.

What motivates you to invest in startups?

I am not a full-time investor, so my main motivation is to build a passive income stream while having the chance to actively influence what the future might look like. I also want to actively participate in the development of the startup scene in Eastern Europe.

How would you describe your investor profile? What is your investment thesis?

Active investing is new to me, so I am still trying to define my thesis. Currently, I am attracted to medium to long-term investments in companies with strong founders and products that can expand globally while revolutionizing/changing their industry.

What do you look for when evaluating a startup - what are the most important aspects for you?

I look at the profile of the founders/background/expertise, what motivates them and their vision. The industry - whether it's one I understand or have dealt with as a customer. And last but not least, the potential to expand globally.

Do you think it's important to have a diversified investment portfolio?

Yes, a diversified portfolio is like an insurance policy that gives you a chance not to lose your money if you invest everything in one sector/idea.

What tech trend/vertical appeals to you and why?

MarTech - it's a large, global market where a good idea with top-notch execution can scale globally more easily than in other sectors, and it's also the sector where I have extensive hands-on experience.

Would you recommend SeedBlink to your friends?

I am happy to say that I have already recommended SeedBlink to my friends. The main reason is that you have access to powerful European investment opportunities that are not available elsewhere. The learning resources you find on SeedBlink and the community convinced me to use the platform.
