If you're a founder based in Georgia or thinking about starting something new, now is one of the best times to take that next step. The local startup ecosystem has been growing consistently in recent years, with Tbilisi at its center. This article provides an overview of the most active acceleration and startup support programs in Georgia, along with some key points to consider before joining these programs.

1. Ventures Georgia Accelerator

Ventures Georgia Accelerator is a startup accelerator based in Tbilisi, Georgia. It supports early-stage, high-growth startups across a wide range of industries. The program is part of Ventures Platform and is backed by partners committed to growing Georgia’s startup ecosystem. Launched with the mission to support founders with global ambition, it has quickly become a go-to hub for entrepreneurs in the region.

At the heart of the program is a 12-week accelerator designed to help founders refine their business models, develop effective go-to-market strategies, and prepare for future funding opportunities. Each cohort accepts up to 20 startups and offers hands-on mentorship, structured workshops, and access to an international investor network. Startups also receive more than $500,000 in perks and resources to support their growth.

After graduating, alumni continue to benefit from the Ventures Georgia network, including investor introductions, post-program support, and visibility on a global stage.

2. Innovative Startup Acceleration Program

The Innovative Startup Acceleration Program is an initiative of Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA) designed to strengthen the country’s startup ecosystem. The program focuses on supporting startups that develop technological and innovative products with the potential for international scalability. Its objectives include helping founders enhance their entrepreneurial skills, refine business models, and prepare MVPs that are ready for both local and global markets.

Currently, GITA is seeking qualified organizations to implement the program. A public call for proposals was launched on April 30, 2025, with applications open until June 20, 2025. Eligible applicants must have a minimum of 8 years of experience running accelerator programs, be a Managing Director with at least 15 years of experience in entrepreneurship or investment, and have a mentor team with over 10 years of relevant experience each. Selected organizations will receive a multi-year, renewable grant and are expected to begin implementing their programs by January 2026.

3. Startup Buro

Startup Buro is a Georgia-based organization focused on supporting entrepreneurship, innovation, and community engagement through a range of structured programs and events. It provides platforms for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and problem-solving by organizing both local and international initiatives. The organization works with startups, professionals, and creatives to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region.

Its portfolio includes events such as Fuckup Nights, where participants share lessons from professional failures; PechaKucha Night, a rapid-presentation format focused on visual storytelling; and Visionary Voices, a speaker series with innovators and leaders. Startup Buro also coordinates global initiatives like the NASA Space Apps Challenge, a technology-focused hackathon; Future Agro Challenge, a competition in agricultural innovation; and Global Game Jam, where teams collaborate to develop video games within a 48-hour timeframe.

4. Programs by Startup Georgia

Startup Georgia has launched a fresh new program called “Strengthening Cross-Sectoral Cooperation for Youth Entrepreneurship Education in the South Caucasus.” It’s an international initiative created in partnership with Startup Szeged and other collaborators.

The program officially began in June 2024 and is ongoing.
