• Soolutions is a leading Dutch company in providing charging infrastructure for electric cars, a fast-growing market.

ROTTERDAM, 11 May – The electric vehicle market is growing at a fast pace, with exciting opportunities for investors. Dutch tech startup Soolutions focusses on the supply, distribution, and installation of charging stations, primarily at consumers' premises. To scale up business, the cleantech company is raising (equity) capital through SeedBlink. Robbin Hoogstraten, the Regional Manager of SeedBlink Benelux, expresses his enthusiasm in presenting this opportunity to our European community of investors. Through our platform, investors will gain access to a fast-growing market, powered by an ambitious and promising company. Dutch entrepreneurs and their businesses are renowned for being well-niched, backed by strong teams, and with a track record of executing ambitious plans..
By 2030, it's estimated that approximately 44 million cars will be driving on Europe's roads. With nearly 20% of car sales being electric in 2021, the need for a robust charging infrastructure has become increasingly crucial. To meet this demand, significant growth capital is required to build a whole new charging infrastructure. For investors, this offers an interesting opportunity: a sustainable investment in a fast-growing market, with a wide range of business possibilities.
Joury de Reuver, founder of Soolutions: “Now, public charging stations draw much attention in the electrification of cars, since in many countries they are still lacking. But it’s at home where charging normally takes place. 80 to 90 percent of charging happens at home and around 30% of homes a can support a home charger. It pays off, therefore, to have a smart, tailor-made charging facility at home. For instance, if you combine this with solar panels, an owner of an electric car can earn the costs of these panels back in two to three years. That is very exciting. Soolutions offers consumers a full-service solution through our online platform, providing everything from advice, finance, hardware to installation to premium support.”
Over the last few years, Soolutions has evolved from a consumer webshop to a full-scale service platform with more than 350 business partners as car dealers, leasing companies, fleet managers and installers and energy companies such as GreenChoice. These partnerships have led to an impressive growth in turnover.
De Reuver sees home charging for electric vehicles as just the starting point of a much bigger market: the electrification of people’s homes. In the Netherlands, gas is increasingly supplanted by electricity, solar panels are on the rise and grid-independency is of growing importance for consumers. “We would like to offer an all-in solution for all electricity in homes, that is our ambition: energy as a service. However, for the time being the focus lies on electric cars. The EV market is constantly growing, but it is still missing reliable, easy-to-understand information and execution, enabling consumers to charge at home, at work and in public.”
In the current investment round Soolutions is raising up to €2 million to expand the platform reach, add new products and create even better services. The company has a strong position in the Benelux and is expanding in other European countries as well.
Robbin Hoogstraten, Regional Manager of SeedBlink Benelux: “Soolutions offers a platform to address a pressing challenge: to provide charging capacity to the growing number of owners of an electric car. They are a full-integrated service provider and have with their platform and growing number of business partners a business model they can scale up easily. This offers our investors very interesting possibilities. The European ambition of Soolutions nicely aligns with the European expansion of SeedBlink.”
SeedBlink’s mission is to grow Europe's technology ecosystem while increasing the risk adjusted returns of investors. “We create value - both for investors and tech start-ups - through a digital portfolio of scalable business investments”, says Hoogstraten. “SeedBlink wants to play a role in creating a truly European capital markets that’s supports tech startups in the Netherlands and elsewhere in Europe. At the same time, the platform offers Dutch and other European investors a broad set of investment opportunities, where they can invest side-by-side venture capitalists.”
With that aim SeedBlink constantly improves its platform, most recently in March with the launch of its secondary market, a game changer for individual investors and the startup investment industry. Liquidity was the most sought-after feature for individual investors to diversify further their portfolios with startups, states Hoogstraten.
