Women who Tech: Lisa Popovici, co-founder of Cartloop
There is a growing number of stories about women in the technology industry successfully developing their start-ups.

We talked to some of the women co-founders of our Alumni community. Although they are of different age, innovate in a different vertical and have a different role within the company, all have in common the determination and the way they used their knowledge to shape their company and generate a positive social impact, through their start-ups.

Now it's the turn of Lisa Popovici, tech entrepreneur and Marketing specialist. Lisa is the co-founder at Cartloop, a conversational SMS marketing app for eCommerce brands. She's a Med School graduate turned to tech, an entrepreneur with over 6 years of eCommerce experience, now bringing the in-store experience online, one text message at a time.

  • What motivates you being a tech startup founder?

There are two main parts. First part of my motivation comes from personal growth and expanding the boundaries of my comfort zone. Since I started Cartloop, one year ago, I have learned more than I have learned in my entire life. The other part is seeing people get successful due to our product. A simple 'thank you' or 'you've got a great service' gets me to the next step of my journey. However, founders cannot rely on motivation. Motivation comes and goes as she pleases. Staying consistent and implementing great habits even when things go south are key to staying on track and keep moving forward.

  • What are the must haves for successful founders?

Consistency and resilience. The ability to get through tough situations is a founder's biggest asset. Success stories are not linear. There are a lot of bumps along the way. It's a roller coaster. And it's more than natural that things will not always go as planned. What founders can do is keep going, keep walking, keep climbing, and pushing forward. Another huge asset are the people. The step from early-stage to big success is driven by those who can execute your vision and work relentlessly to achieve company goals.

  • What technology fascinates you the most now?

I truly believe the future is electric. Very fascinated about Tesla's mission at the moment, to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. We've all seen last year, when most of the streets were empty, how huge can the impact of less pollution be. The people in India were able to see the Himalayas for the first time in 'decades,' as the lockdown eased the air pollution. And I think EVs are a great start to creating an entire sustainable energy ecosystem.
